High-quality spare parts for the Alfa Romeo Giulia GT – The Alfa Bertone (Type 105)
The Alfa Romeo Giulia GT, often affectionately referred to by the public as the Alfa Bertone, is regarded as one of the most beautiful style icons in automotive history. The two-door coupé of the Tipo 105 series was built from 1963 to 1975 with various engine options and has shaped the legend of the Alfa Romeo brand like almost no other vehicle. At myalfagroup, you will find a comprehensive range of Alfa Romeo Giulia GT spare parts for all versions of this legendary model series.
The history of the Alfa Romeo Giulia GT
In September 1963, the Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint GT made its debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show – featuring a bespoke Bertone body built on the Giulia saloon’s chassis. The design was the work of Giorgio Giugiaro, who was then working as a young chief designer at Bertone. The result was a car that combined breathtaking design with sporty performance at a comparatively low price – the affordable dream car of an entire generation of Alfisti.
An overview of the Alfa Romeo Giulia GT model variants
Over the course of its twelve years in production, the Alfa Bertone evolved into a model family in its own right, with a wide range of engine variants and trim levels:
- Giulia Sprint GT 1.6 (1963–1966): The first version with a 1600cc engine – the beginning of the legend
- Giulia GT 1300 Junior (1966–1975): The affordable entry-level model with a 1300cc engine
- Giulia GT 1600 Veloce (1966–1968): More powerful 1600cc version with Veloce tuning
- Alfa Romeo 1750 GT Veloce (1967–1972): With the 1779cc engine – significantly more driving pleasure
- Alfa Romeo 2000 GTV (1971–1975): The top-of-the-range model in the series with a 2000 cc engine and up to 131 hp
- Alfa Romeo GT 1600 Junior (1972–1975): Last 1600cc version bearing the Junior designation
- Alfa Romeo GTA / GTA 1300 Junior: High-performance versions for motorsport, developed by Autodelta
The Alfa Romeo GTC – The rare convertible
In addition to the coupés, there was also a short-lived open-top version: the Alfa Romeo GTC, a convertible based on the Bertone GT. The model failed to gain a foothold in the market and is now an extremely rare collector’s item. From 1966 onwards, its role as an open-top vehicle was taken over by the Alfa Romeo Spider (Tipo 105/115) with Pininfarina bodywork.
